Bid Writer - Exeter

A well-established Heat Pump Manufacturer has an excellent opportunity for a candidate to join their Contracting Division as a Bid Writer, ideally based in the South West of England.

Our client provides a fully MCS accredited ground source heat pump installation service that fits with existing supply chains and client requirements. They can deliver a turnkey package and flexible contractual solutions.

Main Purpose of Job:

• As Bid Writer you will take the lead for both domestic and commercial projects, for a range of sectors including social housing, education, and healthcare.
• You will take responsibility for the overall bid process including quality submission, and pricing.
• You will work with the estimating, sales, delivery, and design departments taking responsibility for the company’s Bid Management process

Key Tasks:

• To lead domestic and commercial sales teams with tender submissions
• Organise review meetings with sales staff
• Liaise with sales teams to identify suitable frameworks, purchasing systems and project specific tenders
• Support other bid writers and sales representatives with quality checking
• Attend hand over meetings
• Communicate with suppliers
• Review previous submissions and update the tender and frameworks database
• Monthly reporting

Person Specification:

• Experience in M&E or Renewable Energy sectors
• Substantial experience writing major bids to the construction and local authority sectors.
• Experience with securing tender opportunities
• Highly proficient in Excel and other estimating tools
• Creative writing experience
• Degree level of education or relevant professional qualifications
• Success in winning projects, accuracy of pricing and securing target margins
• Excellent time management skills
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Bid Writing role or similar

Package:

• Salary between £28,000 - £35,000 DOE with an Uncapped bonus scheme
• 25 days holiday plus statutory.
