Job Overview

The successful Building Services Design Engineer will have responsibility for site visits and carrying out surveys prior to designing plant rooms for the installation of commercial and Industrial renewable energy heating systems. You will also be able to communicate survey results, energy modelling and design work in reports covering feasibility, options appraisals, design reports and specifications, with a view to replacing fossil fuelled heating with heat pumps for heating and cooling.

The successful Building Services Design Engineer will have:

• 2 – 5 years’ experience within a similar role
• Surveying experience with a good understanding of commercial and industrial plant rooms.
• Excellent heat demand calculation skills using heat loss calculations or fuel bill analysis
• Understanding of High temp to Low temp requirements and the building services modifications required
• Ability to design plant rooms including pipe and jump sizing and selection of balance of plant
• AutoCAD 2D and 3D Solidworks
• Ownership of client relationships and projects

Experience/Qualifications:

• Mechanical building services: 2 years (required)
• Degree qualified in either Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineer or similar
• Relevant design experience to carry out the role

Remuneration:

• Salary: Up to £50,000 per year (DOE)
