We are currently seeking an experienced Qualified Bookkeeper/Finance Manager to join a progressive, SME based in Shrewsbury. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team to head up all finance functions including financial control, reporting and management at a time of anticipated growth and development for the company. The successful candidate will operate at all levels within the finance function and there is good opportunity for progression aligned with the growth of the business

Key responsibilities and duties of this role...

  • Data input to finance management system
  • Sales Ledger
  • Purchase ledger
  • Credit control
  • Retention ledger
  • Project profit reporting
  • Final account preparation on completed projects
  • Matching, checking and coding invoices
  • Processing staff expenses
  • Setting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Filing invoices
  • Managing petty cash
  • Being first point of contact for all relevant enquiries
  • Maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Research, reporting to management and full implementation of new software, systems and processes.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • 3+ year’s experience in a construction or manufacturing business with a turnover in excess of £3M
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Solid team working skills
  • Self-disciplined and efficient, with a flexible and proactive nature
  • Experienced in Excel and Microsoft office packages
  • Knowledge of software packages such as SAGE and BACS
  • Ability to work to deadlines

Benefits:

  • Salary between £22,000 - £27,000 per annum FTE DOE
  • This role is ideally part time at 24 hours per week, a full time role could be negotiated for the right candidate.  
  • 20 days holiday + 8 days BH  (with option for holiday buy back)
