Full Stack Developer - Truro

A well-established Heat Pump Manufacturer that represents award winning British engineering at its finest and due to company growth has an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled computer programmer.

You will work as part of the R&D Team to develop new and existing heat pumps, bringing in fresh ideas through information retrieval and processing, UI design and mobile to help our users connect, explore, and interact with our clients’ cutting-edge products.  We are seeking a highly skilled computer programmer who is comfortable with both front and back-end programming.

This role requires a Full Stack Developer who is responsible for developing and designing front end web architecture, through to the back-end database whilst ensuring the responsiveness of applications.  The chosen candidate will be the only Full Stack Developer in the company and will be working in a small and agile team within a rapidly expanding business. The tasks will include programming for class leading load shifting technology – a revolutionary step in decarbonisation.  You will be required to see out a project from conception to final product, requiring good organisational skills and attention to detail.

Main Purpose of Job

Your main responsibilities will be to work with your team to:

  • Developing front end website architecture.
  • Designing user interactions on web pages.
  • Develop functional databases, applications, and servers to support websites on the back end.
  • Ensuring cross-platform optimization for mobile phones.
  • Ensuring responsiveness of applications.
  • Working alongside graphic designers for web design features.
  • Develop and design RESTful services and APIs
  • Meeting both technical and end user needs.
  • Ensure that non-functional requirements such as security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability are being considered when creating solutions.
  • Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages.
  • Seeing through a project from conception to completion.
  • Report to Senior Development Engineers and Manager
  • To produce documentation and reports as necessary.
  • To manage smaller projects in order to meet time and budget requirements.
  • To work cooperatively and provide support as required for all companies in the Group.
  • To undertake training and assist in training other member of staff as required.

Person Specification:

  • At least 3 years in a similar role with comparable goals and responsibilities, or a role with transferable skills and responsibilities.
  • Degree educated with qualifications in a computer science, or equivalent
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Proficiency with server-side languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, PHP, and C#.
  • Familiarity with database technology such as MySQL and MS SQL.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills

Desirable

  • Degree in computer science.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Anglar JS, React, and Node.js
  • Experience in server support (LAMP)
  • Experience with source code management such as Git
