Mechanical Estimator - Exeter

Our client provides a fully MCS accredited ground source heat pump installation service that fits with existing supply chains and client requirements. They can deliver a turnkey package and flexible contractual solutions.

Due to continued growth, this well-established Heat Pump Manufacturer, has an excellent opportunity for a candidate to join their Contracting Division as a Mechanical Estimator, ideally based in the South West of England.

Main Purpose of Job:

• To be responsible for the development of pricing for estimates, quotations and tenders up to the value of £25M for non – domestic projects across a range of sectors for Ground Source Heat Pump installations.
• Work with the estimating, sales, delivery and design departments taking responsibility for the estimating process in both the public and private sectors for GSHP Installations, including Drilling, groundworks, M&E, plant installation and heating and cooling distribution systems.

Key Tasks:

• To lead on estimating for all commercial pricing enquiries
• Organise review meetings
• Analyse drawings and data sheets showing construction detail, including floor plans, layout of HW and heating infrastructure, heat losses, EPCs etc.
• Accurate take-off of M&E schematics
• Assist with development of estimating software
• Develop project specific Scope of Works
• Support Bid Writers
• Monthly reporting

Person Specification:

• Experience in M&E Estimating for commercial projects
• Experience within Renewable Energy (Advantageous)
• Experience with National schedule of rates
• Highly proficient in Excel and other estimating tools
• Degree level of education or relevant professional qualifications
• Success in winning projects, accuracy of pricing and securing target margins
• Excellent time management skills
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an M&E estimating role or similar

Package:

• Salary between £35,000 - £40,000 DOE with an Uncapped bonus scheme
