Production Planner - Truro

A well-established Heat Pump Manufacturer that represents award winning British engineering at its finest and due to company growth has an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled Production Planner.

The successful Production Planner will join a growing, close-knit Operations Team, driving the production of our clients’ market-leading heat pumps and related products in their leading-edge lean manufacturing production facility.  You will ensure that the Heat Pumps production is fully planned, so that customer demand is always met. You will work with Production Management, Customer Service and Purchasing to ensure that products are available to customers on time, materials are available when needed, stock levels are controlled, and production utilisation is maximised whilst maintaining quality.

Main Purpose of Job

As Production Planner, you will work closely with the Operations Team to maintain a clear plan that ensures that:

• Planned Production output meets sales demand.
• Materials are available in time for production requirements.
• Production output is managed to ensure capacity is well utilised and not exceeded.

Responsibilities will be to:

• Maintain the build schedule to meet business and customer needs by capturing, updating and loading demand forecasts and reviewing orders in line with production capacities, materials availability, customer demand and the business plan.
• Identify conflicts and constraints and work with the Operations Team to resolve.
• Review and plan capacity requirements on-going with the Production Supervisor and Operations Director.
• Manage finished goods and sub-assembly levels to ensure sufficient supply to maintain production / meet demand
• Work with the Purchasing team to ensure timely receipt of materials to meet production plan
• Work with Production Management to ensure efficient utilisation of the factory
• Monitor and report KPCs related to Production, Inventory and Costs
• Work with Operations Team to develop and implement on-going improvements to the planning and scheduling process

Person Specification:

• You will have 2 or more years of previous experience in production planning in a technical manufacturing business.
• You will be used to working in a Lean Manufacturing environment and understand the flow of materials through a factory.
• Production planning in technical manufacturing
• Confident working with MRP to plan production
• Understanding / Experience in Lean Manufacturing.
• Familiar with the concept of single-piece flow.
• Confident working with an ERP system
• Good understanding of Supply chain management and logistics.
• Proficient with Excel for analysis and reporting of production / inventory data.
• Fluent with MS-Office and comfortable with general IT
• Educated to HND or above

Package:

• Basic salary is between £28,000 - £35,000 DOE
