Small Works Project Manager / Engineer - Leicester

Our client is currently seeking a Small Works Projects Manager to be an integral and key member of the Project Delivery team.  As part of the role, the successful Small Project Manager must be a self-motivated and a team player with the ability to work on their own initiative.  This role may suit a graduate looking for a Project Management/Engineer opportunity to develop their career within Renewable Energy.

The company:

Operates in the Installation, Service and Maintenance of Commercial/Industrial sized plant rooms with an emphasis on Biomass technology heating systems.  Offering support to more than 700 installations across the UK which include Renewable Energy installers, Facility Management companies and End Users, plus over 1500 installations of their own truly makes them experts in their field.

The Role:

  • The successful Small Works Projects Manager, initially, will provide support to the Biomass Project Manager on the installation of biomass boilers as well as remedial and upgrade works. Over time you will transfer to taking full responsibility for a number of projects.
  • This role is based in Leicestershire but some home working is expected and will involve travel to customer’s sites throughout the UK, and will occasionally involve staying away from home.
  • Small projects include remedial works, fossil fuel boiler installation and biomass boiler replacements.
  • This person must be skilled at bringing together multiple company resources to deliver an excellent service to the customer.

Initially ensuring the Project Manager is supported where necessary, key Responsibilities incl:

  • Ensure customers technical questions are answered in a timely and professional manner
  • Ensuring all documentation and systems are updated fully
  • Ensure site activities progress as planned
  • Ensuring the site engineers have the required information
  • Co-Ordination of all Small related works, using Service team engineers or approved sub-contractors.
  • Monitor all aspects of the work and ensure completion and update CRM.
  • Monthly reporting and forecasts

This role will lead to taking overall responsibility for the planning, management, co-ordination and financial control of delivery of Small Projects, ensuring agreed Scope, Programme and Cost are all respected.

Personal Attributes/Professional Experience required:

  • Good technical knowledge of the boilers and their integration into heating systems. (Advantageous)
  • The successful applicant will likely come from an electrical / mechanical engineering / construction background or be able to show that their experience / attitude will enable them to overcome any lack of experience.
  • Good IT skills
  • Full driving license.

Remuneration:

  • Salary - £28,000 - £30,000
  • 25 days holiday plus Banks
  • Company Contributory Pension Scheme after probation
